A small species with prostrate rosettes of foliage. A good subject for a rock garden. The stemless flowers pop up from the center of the mat-like clumps and grow maybe 4 inches tall. The flowers are in thick, yellow-gold disc shaped heads. The leaves have one prominent center vein and bluntly rounded ends. Plants spread-out to around 8 inches wide. Used in rock gardens or as a container planting.
Native to China and central Asia and the Himalayan mountains where it is found growing on rocky slopes. Zone 5-8.
