This famed and rare English Bluebell has created shimmering azure woodlands throughout the British Isles since as early as 1580. The nodding, violet-blue, fairy bell shaped flowers of these hardy, native bulbs attract insects to their delicately scented flowers. At their happiest when growing in the dappled shade of deciduous trees, English bluebells are ideal for a woodland garden or naturalizing in informal areas of grass.
It is protected under UK law, and in some other parts of its range. Zone 4-9
