Cuminum cyminum, a member of the parsley family, is an erect, much-branched, annual plant growing around 12-18 inches tall and is grown mainly for it's edible seeds. The seeds are used in traditional medicine and also as a spice in food. Great for digestion, immune system, and circulation. Cumin can be used ground or as whole seeds.It imparts an earthy, warming and aromatic character to food, making it a staple in certain stews and soups, as well as spiced gravies such as curry and chili powder.
