Not so rare, just good to have. Mexican Jalapeño Pepper is a hot pepper, generally ready for harvest 65 days after sowing. Plants are usually 24" high with a strong upright habit. They bear green peppers which turn to red when mature and are 3-5" long, thick walled, and can be quite hot, however the heat is short lived and does not linger. The may be harvested when green or red and are used extensively in Mexican cooking either dried or fresh. Works well for Chili Pepper Bonsai ( Bonchi ). 6000-8000 scoville units.
