The much sought after Himalayan white poppy (also known as Tibetan white poppy) is an attractive plant with loose, basal rosettes of light green leaves and tall stalks of striking saucer-shaped white flowers in summer.
The amazing white flower color is a traffic stopper. Best grown in partial shade in a sheltered location in cool, moist, very well-drained soil. They can be grown in full sun in far northern climates such as Alaska and Maine. It is a native to rock crevices and thickets in the Himalayan Mountains. Hardy to -40 degrees F. Zone 3-8. Needs cool, moist summers, constant moisture, plenty of shade.
