Alyogyne huegelii is a fast-growing, evergreen shrub of upright and open habit, noted for its large, trumpet-shaped, lilac-blue to deep purple flowers, 4 inches across, blooming off and on all year, each flower lasts 2-3 days.The plant can produce hundreds of blooms each season. With appropriate pruning it can even be maintained as a small compact shrub or trained into a beautiful topiary.
Adaptable to a wide range of soil types. A well-drained sunny spot is ideal although plants will grow in semi-shade. Plants perform best when they receive sunlight for most of the day and have some wind protection as large plants are subject to wind damage. Zone 9+ or container.
