Clematis paniculata or Bush Clematis is endemic to New Zealand where is is locally referred to as Puawhananga (Flower of the Skies), New Zealand Clematis and Bridal Veil.
Clematis paniculata is a woody vine with the foliage and flowers forming a canopy for an amazing display. In the wild it is mostly found growing in forests, spreading into tree tops where it produces masses of pure white male flowers (4-5” Inches) in spring. Once planted out, keep roots cool, moist and shaded as in its natural bush habitat, and plant with support. Then leave it, this clematis prefers not to be disturbed. Perennial, Zone 7 - 9.
