Bee Balm, also known as Wild Bergamot, produces curious flowers that vary in shades from pink to lavender. These flowers appear in July and August above stout, strong stems bearing aromatic leaves. The leaves are excellent in tea, adding the distinct flavor to Earl Grey blends. Plants grow to a height of 24-36″ inches and those that don’t survive as perennials will likely self-sow.
Bee Balm has many wonderful medicinal properties, is highly attractive to beneficial pollinators like butterflies and bees and are a must in any garden. Perennial zones 4-8.
