Listed in the 1890s as Striped-Leafed Japanese Maize, this beautiful ornamental corn from Japan grows 5-6 ft. tall and has variegated leaves striped with green, white, yellow and pink. The tassels are dark purple, the kernels are burgundy. Makes a stunning border or accent. For better color development plant widely spaced. Very ornamental striped "grass" for containers (where it remains small) or border accents.
