The Jacaranda, Jacaranda mimosifolia more often known simply as the "Jacaranda", is a sub-tropical plant native to South America that has been widely planted elsewhere because of its beautiful and long-lasting blue flowers.
The Jacaranda Tree puts on a breathtaking floral display. It's vivid Lilac-blue looking like Grape cool aid clusters of trumpet shaped blossoms appear in the spring before the foliage covering the whole tree in glorious color. Jacarandas are fast growing trees with soft graceful, fern like foliage. Jacarandas will shed their leaves in the winter often turning a rich yellow before falling. Hardy in zones 7-10.
