This brilliant 5 to 6" flower is almost color changing depending on light and what is planted with it.
A spectacular poppy with vibrant purple interior petals and frilly red edges! Plants produce cabbage-like leaves on tall, grey-green stems and large perfectly round smooth seed capsules.
The huge buds gracefully point to the ground until they are ready to be freed from captivity at which time they raise their heads to the sun and literally explode!
The vents open up completely so they re-seed freely. You can use the beautiful pods for fresh dried floral arrangements or crafts such as wreaths and swags. Some people even paint them. Full sun, to 3 feet tall. Zones 3-8.
