Calendulas composite flowers are particularly valued and used in medicinal teas, soaps and oil infusions; suitable for food decoration. Flowers are picked at the beginning of flowering every 2 or 3 days, later every 4 or 5 days. Grows best in a sunny location, not demanding for soil. Seedlings are resistant to frost. Makes a great long lasting cut flower.
