Thriving in the summer heat, Mexican Sunflower (Tithonia rotundifolia) is a warm weather annual featuring showy daisy flowers, up to 3 in. across in shades of brilliant from midsummer until fall. Very attractive and eye-catching, with abundant and joyful blossoms for weeks, this vigorous annual plant creates a striking visual impact in the garden. The Torch can be grown as a 4-6 foot heat and drought tolerant screen that does not require staking. The spectacular 3-4 inch orange-red flowers are good for cutting and are among the favorite stops of butterflies - particularly the Monarch. Begins blooming in July or August and continues until frost.
