The potato-leafed true black Brandywine was introduced in the 1880s, and produces a good yields of beautiful brown-burgundy colored fruits weighing mostly 6-12 oz. each. Tomatoes have a rich tomato flavor and turn maroon-red with almost black-colored shoulders (black tomato) when mature. These juicy, sweet flesh tomatoes is very mild compared to many other black tomatoes and are great in salads and on sandwiches. Indeterminate, 85 days.
