White Gooseneck Loosestrife is an herbaceous perennial plant and hardy from zones 3 to 8. The plant grows to 3 feet and gets its descriptive name from the star-like gooseneck loosestrife flowers on their arching stems, which bear a slight crook at the end. Leaves are slender and come to a point. Prefers sunny to partially sunny locations. The plant survives winter with a layer of mulch around the base and leaves turn an attractive gold in fall. This plant does best in full sun to partial shade. It is quite adaptable, preferring to grow in average to wet conditions, and will even tolerate some standing water. Popular with European florists, it makes a great cut flower.
