The plants grow during the summer, followed by gorgeous flowers in late summer. The flowers turn from a pale yellow to a creamy pink and roselles can be harvested in autumn, until the cold weather sets in. The flowers are hermaphrodite and are pollinated by Insects. The calyxes are highly desirable. Once harvested, the calyxes (sometimes referred to as roselles) can be used to make a tasty and healthy tea or gourmet jellies.
Zone 9+, protect from frost. In cooler climates treat as an annual plant that grows to about four feet in height and width. We have also freshly dried flowers available in 4 oz bags.
