Purple Emperor looks spectacular in hanging baskets or on trellises. Can be trained on strings for a showy display on balcony, windows or pergolas. Muted rosy pink flowers and maroon shades with a yellow throat change pleasantly to lavender, giving the plant a vintage look. This semi-trailing type makes compact vines reaching 18-24 inches long. They are easy to grow with edible leaves and flowers that have a pleasant, peppery flavor. The leaves and flowers are used in salads, pesto sauces and food decoration on spectacular cakes.
