Delicious 8-10″ long carrot with a tapered shape and sweet taste. Not just the skin that is deeply colored, the midnight purple, pinkish white color goes all the way through to the core in various shades. Black Nebula is scrumptious raw or cooked and does not lose its color when cooked!
Makes dark purple drink when juiced; when a squeeze of lemon is added, it turns bright pink! The juice is also used as a natural coloring for easter eggs & fabric. Black Nebula is more rustic, not as refined (the roots can look a bit "hairy" sometimes, but are easily peeled), as traditional orange or hybrid carrots, but well worth growing. Among all of the health benefits too long to list, this variety ranks highest in anthocyanins. If left in the garden, it makes exquisite white umbel flowers tinged with lavender. Pollinators love carrot flowers.
