This rare tropical plant comes from Africa (Seychelles, Reunion Island and Mauritius) and prefers a shady spot or filtered light and average water and fertilizer. It is a mostly indoor, tropical plant, that bears lavender, bell-shaped flowers arranged in a circle around the upright spike. The bonnet-like flowers bloom from fall to spring, a time when flowers are much appreciated! It has glossy, deep green foliage that is the perfect backdrop for its blooms. 3-4 ft tall usually, but can reach up to 12 ft in optimal (tropical) conditions. Indoor plant or zone 10+.
