This is a wild flower you want. This beautiful wildflower is representative of several species of Ipomoea that, unlike garden morning glories, are not vines. It starts late and can be mistaken for an unwanted “weed.”
Bush Morning Glory is a sturdy perennial with narrow leaves on bushy, mound-shaped plants 3 ft. high by 5 ft. wide. Pink flowers in summer are 3" across and 4" long with dark throats. The root was used medicinally by some native North American Indian tribes for various ailments. Very cold hardy and drought tolerant. Zones 4-9.
