Crepe Myrtle (Lagerstroemia indica) is an ornamental tree that produces beautiful flower clusters. Blooming usually takes place in summer and continues throughout fall. Many types of crepe myrtle also provide year-round interest with unique peeling bark.
It grows to an ideal height, the canopy establishes very quickly and evenly, and the bloom cycles are exceptionally long. Crape Myrtles are known to show their beautiful flowers from early spring all the way into the fall.
A strictly ornamental tree, the Crape Myrtle requires very little cleanup and maintenance, love the hot sun and grow great in clay-type soil. Great Bonsai material. Zone 7-10.
