This amazing variety has the best eating quality of all kales. 'Emerald Ice' is textured, ruffled and has ice - white midribs and variegated new growth. It has a very sweet flavor, even the leaf stalks are very sweet and have the crispest texture. Ideal used for baby leaf, and suitable for multiple cuts prolonging the harvest period from October to April. A harvest of fresh greens when most other vegetables are unavailable, the cold improves the crop, an excellent source for Vitamin A, is normally served cooked.
