This beautiful Gilia is a sturdy, upright biennial / perennial variety native to the southeastern portion of the United States. The brilliant red, tubular flowers are marginally spaced throughout the entire length of the spike. Very feathery and delicate when in full bloom. Requires a very dry, well drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Reseeds freely if stems are allowed to dry on the ground. A spectacular plant to attract hummingbirds and butterflies to the garden. Drought tolerant once it becomes established. Will reach a mature height of 4 to 6 feet. Zone 7-11. Does not like to be transplanted.
