Thought technical not a everlasting, it lasts a very long time in arrangements. Solanum mammosum is commonly known as nipplefruit, cow's udder, or, ambiguously, "Apple of Sodom". It is an annual or tender perennial.
Plant grows over 3ft tall in most frost-free areas. Beautiful tall, thorny plants bear purple flowers, followed by long spikes of 3” yellow fruit that are curiously shaped, almost like a cow’s udder and glowing yellow-orange in color. These 2’-5’ stems are sold for display in arrangements or alone and fetch top prices at stores and are great for farmers’ markets. The long-lasting, bitter fruit are not edible.
