The most attractive of the tree ferns available, this stunning NZ native forms a thick, basal trunk that is covered in a dense layer of fibrous roots. The spreading crown of fronds are lime green and form a distinctive skirt encircling the trunk at maturity. they form a tidier appearance than other tree ferns.
A splendid architectural specimen plant which can be grown in a large container or in the ground in a cool, sheltered, shady site. Plants will tolerate some full sun, but protect from strong afternoon sun.
Dicksonia fibrosa Tree Fern is very beautiful and easy to grow. This species is able to withstand 18-20°F grows to a mature height of only about 5'-7' Feet. Best grown in neutral or slightly acidic soil.
