25 Fresh Seeds w/Instructions
Introduced to the US seed trade in the 1800's, Scarlet Runner Beans are one of the oldest runner beans in existence. Used by native Americans, large, beautiful, vigorous vines grow over 10'. Flowers are very ornamental, in clusters of the brightest scarlet. This beautiful vine will serve you as both an ornamental vining flower and edible pole bean. Bearing large, show-stopping sprays of vivid, edible scarlet flowers, attractive to hummingbirds and bees; giving way to an abundance of slender 8-inch edible bean pods. Pick young pods as snap beans or allowed them to mature for shelled fresh use or as a dry bean in the off-season. Performs well in cooler weather. Also known as "jewelry beans" for the striking colors and beauty of the beans. Seeds are very large. 75 Days.
