The truly stunning fully double flowers of this peony-type poppy are very dark maroon to near black and are as close to a black colored poppy you will find.
Large blooms are 4-5" across with ruffled petals that simply look incredible in the garden and are great for cuttings to use as indoor arrangements. Blooms are followed by handsome seedpods that are highly sought after for use in dried arrangements.
Plants have strong stems and will grow about 3-4' in height with a spread of about 12". Easy from seed, this is an annual variety that will reseed in most locations.
