Sea Aster is an edible sea vegetable with long grey to green colored leaves. A superb, tender, salty succulent with a complex sweet flavor with hints of iron and nut. Thick, fleshy lanceolate leaves fairly distinct within their salt marsh habitat, unmistakable when displaying its lovely mauve flowers. Brackish pasture, mud flats, salt marsh.
This is a must have for any marsh gardener or forager. Please note: This is a wild species from Scotland and may be difficult cultivate.
