Coral Bells (Heuchera micrantha) is a dependable and showy perennial for your ground cover needs, borders, containers; and anywhere else that benefits from a hardy plant with vibrant, deep maroon red- brownish purple foliage. Foliage color may fade to a bronze-green in hot summers. Tiny, pinkish white, bell-shaped flowers in open, airy panicles are borne on slender, wiry, dark red stems extending well above the mound of leaves, typically to a height of 12 - 20" in late spring to early summer. Heuchera has minimal care needs and makes a great plant in hardiness zones 4 through 9 for its colorful foliage and small pink to white summertime blooms. Best grown in organically rich, humusy, medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. Favorite for chocolate themed gardens.
