Fantastic plant from South America. These tuberous-rooted perennial plants produce slightly pointed oval leaves on branching stems. The vanilla fragrant, trumpet-shaped bright yellow flowers are borne in clusters, appearing each evening with repeat blooming day after day into early fall. The pleasant scent attracts pollinators such as moths, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Mirabilis jalapa is believed to have been cultivated by the Aztecs for medicinal and ornamental purposes.
This is a fast-growing perennial that thrives in full sun and moist soil.
