Grown in the US since 1850, this melon probably originated in Asia Minor near the town of Kassabeh. This beautiful melon needs a long dry season to produce well but must be well watered. The skin is wrinkled and a golden color when mature. The Its smooth textured green flesh is juicy and subtly sweet.. It is a good keeper and ripe melons usually weigh 6-8 pounds. This variety is adapted to hot and dry climates.
