Lonicera ciliosa (Orange Honeysuckle or Western Trumpet Honeysuckle) is a honeysuckle native to forests of western North America. A deciduous shrub growing to 18 feet tall with hollow twigs, the leaves are opposite, oval, with the last pair on each twig merged to form a disk. Terminal flower clusters with narrow, trumpet-shaped, orange flowers are adored by hummingbirds. The fruit is a translucent orange-red berry. The fruits are edible either raw or cooked, but are not a common food. Plant in cool sun to moderate shade with regular water. Zone 5-9.
