Native to South America, peanuts have been in cultivation for nearly 3,500 years. As a member of the pea family, the peanut is also a legume plant. It is an easy plant to grow in any typical vegetable garden. For maximum productivity, the vines need to be frost free for at least 4 months and grow best in well-drained soil. Peanuts need warm temperatures and in favorable conditions mature in around 4 months after starting sowing . Each plant can produce 50-60 pods. Great container plant as well.
