Gaillardia pulchella has several common names including Indian Blanket, Blanket Flower, and Firewheel.
The flower heads are daisy-like blossoms having dark reddish brown domed centers with bold, fiery yellow and red ray flowers, usually red marked with brilliant yellow on the ends of the petals. Indian Blanket Flower seeds take approximately 20 days to sprout with the first blooms appearing approximately 3 months later growing to be about 12” tall. In container the plant grows significantly smaller which makes it suitable for miniature or Fairy Gardens.
Full sun and good drainage are essential. Annual.
